A Thought….That’s All It Takes

A thought…that’s all it takes…another thought, then another. They seem to
come in waves one after another with energy and a life of their own.

I wonder where they come from. We all have them. It’s not unusual, uncommon or
unique. Yet, one thought if entertained can change the world.

That’s where a painting originates or a tall skyscraper ― one thought. What can be
done with it when we make it our own?

So often, we go on autopilot not paying attention to thoughts or even recognizing them. They just buzz around in our head.

Take inventory and check out your life. Are you happy? Or are you drifting with no direction feeling unfulfilled? What type of thoughts are you entertaining? Maybe you’re frustrated feeling stuck and anxious. Then, weigh in all the thoughts you are giving life to most of the day ― everyday. Does your life match your thoughts? (Just a few questions I too have asked myself.)

And, I’m right here with you looking for answers:Why do we make it so hard if we are creators of our lives?” For me, I think the answer for why I make it so hard may be thoughts don’t appear real. I can’t see or touch them and if they’re not visible I assume they aren’t real. So, how can we create with them? I’m reminded what Dr. Wayne Dyer said:

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Allow me to experiment a little. Consider what pictures and thoughts come to mind when I mention:

PAYCHECK

HOLDING HANDS

PROMOTION

SUNSET

CANCER

Do you have attached memories to any of these? What feelings come up?

The realness I’ve discovered with thoughts comes from what I feel. Combining thoughts with feelings are what gives them life. The key to being happy and creating dreams start with a thought then the matching feeling.

It seems so simple yet overlooked with not much credit given to the power we each possess ― a thought … that’s all it takes. Like seeds thoughts contain whatever can be imagined ― endless possibilities lying dormant until given life and intention.

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” ~~ Patanjali

Much has been said about the “law of attraction” with the popularity of the movie “The Secret” several years ago. The reality of this truth starts with a thought ― your thoughts and how real they are to you and what you do with them. Let’s honor the gift we’ve been given and take charge of our lives bringing life to our dreams and changing the world.

  1. Roy Disney, Walt’s nephew was asked upon the opening of Disney World, what do you think your uncle Walt would have thought about seeing this place. Roy responded, “he saw it way before we did”. Thoughts are things. Beethoven heard his 9th symphony way before we did. First is was a thought then… it was a thing. You can do the same thing but it’s also important to remember that the “things” I mentioned took time and effort.

    • Thank you Dick for stopping by and sharing. I like your examples of manifesting with Walt Disney and Beethoven. Thought and the law of attraction doesn’t seem to be a new concept.

Michelangelo had said on his sculpture that David was already in the marble — he just helped bring him out. You’re right when you say it takes time and effort and I think that’s the difference in whether our lives are full of manifesting examples like these noble gentlemen or not. Action is needed and I also think action comes from how important and real it is to us; otherwise, it dies by the wayside like seeds.

I hope you come back again and share more insights. I like your site and post and signed up for your free 3 Dirty Secrets to Manifesting. Looking forward to reading it and drawing on your wisdom.
