Happy New Year and a Wonderful Life

Happy New Year

I’m not in a crisis, nor do I have an angel called Clarence calling on me; but, I can say with no uncertainty that it’s been a wonderful life, with what I’ve experienced so far.

Now, on the eve of another New Year and just yesterday celebrating 49 years of marriage with hubby, I’ve been doing my fair share of reflecting. Not only for 2015 but through all the years that have gone before.

If you read any of my stories, you’ll know that it hasn’t been all peaches and cream. There have been many challenges along the way. But, you know, I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. It’s the challenges that tap into the depth of my soul and give me a feeling I can take with me out in the world.

I began this year with an invitation to the miraculous and now, as it’s winding down, I was shown and given more than I could have ever hoped for. In the midst of world crises and occasional personal crises, I found a gentle guidance and courage. It is subtle and sweet and never leaves me.

I guess, like George Bailey in “It’s A Wonderful Life”, it’s only in hindsight and, maybe, a different perspective that we can see how different things could have turned out had we never been born.

Most of us don’t need Clarence or Scrooge’s angels to walk us through our lives to show us love and how important our connection is to one another. Hopefully, we pick up on that along the way, if we live this life long enough.

I’ve learned a little more this year and my heart has filled again with love, not just for myself, but for my family, friends and fellow beings on this God-given Earth. I hope to share more of these stories with you in 2016.

But, for now, I wish you a blessed

Happy New Year and a Wonderful Life!

  1. A wonderful post Pat. No one ever promised us a rose garden, but we can cultivate one. As I get older material things do not matter. Like you peace, love of family and friends and joy are what make me the most happy. Of course I wouldn’t mind winning Power Ball :o). We will always have ups and downs in our lives it’s how we handle it that counts. May the New Year bring you continued health, happiness, love and joy. Looking forward to reading your stories in 2016 too. HAPPY NEW YEAR.

    • Aw, thank you, Patricia. So true, there are no guarantees. Just cultivate the best we can with what we know and, maybe, we get better at it along the way. God bless and wishing you and your family the happiest of New Years. 🙂

    • Thank you, Bev, and hope the best of Happy New Year for you, too. No doubt there will be many surprises — I can feel them already. God bless. 🙂

    • Thank you, Susan. My wish is the same for you in this New Year — many blessings and the happiest of years. God bless, my friend. 🙂

    • Thank you, Diana. Yes, those moments of reflection have given me peace but even more it’s given me the feeling all is okay and I’m safe. It may not look like it but the presence I feel and strength goes beyond and says otherwise. So glad you stopped by and wishing you all the best of God’s blessings in the New Year, my friend. 🙂
