Reblog: At the end of the day . . . by Dr. Rex

I want to share this post with you, especially on this day ― Jan 1st ― New Year’s.

They are reflections from Dr. Rex on her site at “It Is What It Is” and, for me, I thought it would be a good way to start the year when I’m thinking about resolutions and setting goals.

I think I’d like to begin this year by making this conscious effort to find more ways to love and make this a better world.

How about you? Can you think of something you could do to make it a better world?

At the end of the day …..

As we sit comfortably at home, in our offices, in our environment, we feel relatively safe.

But, are we?

It’s easy to stay within the boundaries of our comfort zone. It’s easy to keep our heads in the sand. It’s easy not to get involved.

It’s easy to let others be the voices.

But there has to be a time when we wake up, take a hard look at the reality of our world, our ways, our beliefs and make a decision to engage.

This is not easy to do but it has to be done!

Thank you, Dr. Rex, for your message. May we all find ways to make life better for you and for me in our corners of the world.

    • You’re right, Susan. It doesn’t take much to make a difference in someone’s life. For me, it’s a good mindset to start out the New Year. 🙂

  1. Thank you, Pat, for a wonderful post and reminder of what we can do for others and not what others can do for us. It seems to me that there can be no life as rewarding as a selfless one. I love your posts….

    • I agree, Susan. It’s a good mindset to start with the New Year. There’s nothing like the feeling of a heart-to-heart connection and the exchange of love and happiness with each other. There’s always something we can do even if only a smile to lift our energy every day. Thank you for stopping by and reading. It makes me happy you enjoy my posts. It means the world to me. I’m looking forward to taking more journeys around Italy with you in the New Year. 🙂

  3. Hello Pat,

the world is really small 🙂 I was agreeably surprised to see that you too have heard about Dr Rex and her blog “It is what it is”. I had another blog before that one, and I was regularly receiving updates from Dr Rex. But I was disconnected with WordPress for a long time until I created that one, and I got back in touch with Dr Rex and even shared several of her posts on my wall, until I would shell them into some personal posts of mine. I really enjoy all the things that she shares with us. You may be aware about the Orlando killings, and I perfectly understand Dr Rex’s state of mind after such a horrible event, especially since she mentioned to me that she lived near Orlando… and has been studying for a long time in Puerto Rico…

Secondly, “Heal the World” is one of the songs I always loved the most from MJ’s repertory. MJ was a true ambassador of peace and love, and known for his immaculate love for children, and a big activist into charity actions against HIV/AIDS, famine in Africa, etc. Heal the World, alike We are The World, should remain international hymns for our Mother Earth, who is really sick because of wars, famine, poverty, child labor, diseases, corruption, dictatorship, insecurity, crimes, violence, etc. And where does all that come from? Only God knows…

We may no more be in 2014 but already in 2016, but the message still remains the same… we should heal the world, and for this we should start healing the world by starting with the “man in the mirror”, ie with ourselves… Because like MJ sang, “If you wanna make the world a better place, just take a look at yourself, then make a change”.

    • Hi Uma — it truly is a small world and I’m so happy you also know Dr. Rex and are familiar with her blog. I was happy to share her post of healing for the world. It’s a message we continue to pass along — the world needs to hear it more than ever. Thank you for reading. 🙂

I would love to hear from you. . .thank you for stopping by.
