I hope you’re having a happy day! Whether you’re Irish or not, it’s a fun day for laughter and celebration.

Spring is around the corner, a lot to look forward to and be thankful.

Maybe, today you’ll fix up a pot of Irish stew or corned beef and cabbage or attend a parade. I can hear it bubbling and smell the brew.

However you spend today, whatever you’re facing or have come through, I ask to send you an Irish Blessing and wish you happiness and love.

    • You’re welcome Susan. I hope you had a happy day and everyone enjoyed your Irish stew. It looked good on your post – mmmmm. 🙂

    • I’m glad I made you happy and you stopped by. Thank you Diane for your kind words — you made my day! 🙂 I hope you will come back again for another visit and more reads. I’m glad we’ve connected again.

  1. It seems that lots of Americans have Irish origins, which makes that St Patrick’s Day is very popular as well in the USA 🙂 I don’t know too much about that celebration, but I heard that on that day, you get pinched if you aren’t wearing green on that special day. Am I right? By the way, why should we wear green on that day? What is the meaning of green color for St Patrick’s Day? I’m very curious when it comes on other foreign cultures since, as I told you before, I myself come from Mauritius which is a multi-cultural country as well 🙂

    • Not only Irish origins, Uma, but a mixture from a lot of countries all over the world. It’s what the United States is most known for — a melting pot of people. My origins are from Scotland where my father’s parents were born and raised.

As far as Irish origins and the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, it goes way back to the 1700’s when the Irish immigrants in the U.S. started the first St. Patty’s Day Parade in New York City.

As to why green is the color most everyone wears to celebrate, it’s because Ireland’s nickname is “The Emerald Isle” so because of this, green became a more popular color on this holiday.

I’d love to travel like you and explore the many cultures. I’m curious about them, too, and the wonders of this big, beautiful world fascinates me.

I would love to hear from you. . .thank you for stopping by.
