One Hundred Posts

(Pictures by Microsoft Clipart) ~~ Woohoo! This is my 100th post. I’m dancing around happy – ecstatic of this accomplishment, for me. You have to understand that this is the last thing I ever imagined I would do is write.

As a child growing up, I didn’t like to read. My father read all the time to the point it became a pet peeve to me. It would be nice outside and he would sit there with his nose in a book. I thought it was the biggest waste of time.

In school, when book reports were due, I would read a few chapters in the beginning, middle and end and look at the front and back inlays for a summary of the book and write my report. Then, I would pray there would be no test or called upon for questions and answers. It worked some times but most often it didn’t.

Then, I married and, guess what, my husband loved to read and more than my father. So, it was then that I thought I’d better get serious and read a book or two. It was a slow go and over the years I developed a love for reading. In fact, my husband has his bookcase with his favorite books and I have mine. I’ve actually filled up a bookcase with my favorite books. Now, I love to read and look forward to quiet times on the weekend, when the weather is stormy, curled up with a good book.

I have a lot of ground to make up for all those lost years but the books are not going anywhere. In fact, with this discovery of writing, I may one day add my own contribution to the volumes already published. I never knew you could write and feel so fulfilled and amazed as the story unfolds. It’s like something talks through you and words pour out on the screen. When I’m finished, I’m in wonder as to where it came from.

So, in light from where I’ve come, what I’ve learned in the process and what I have accomplished, I thank you for coming along on this journey with me, reading and sharing your thoughts and wisdom.

  1. Congratulations Pat.

100 posts is a huge accomplishment. HUGE!!!! I’m so proud of you. Not just for writing 100 posts, but for finding a love of reading. Aren’t books just the greatest? They can be so inspiring, uplifting and thought provoking.

Isn’t that amazing how words can go from “somewhere” in your head, to your fingertips, to the screen. Then you read it and say, “did I just write that?” “That’s pretty good!.” I love when that happens.

Congrats again on your great accomplishment. I’ll be looking forward to the next hundred.

  2. Thank you, Barbara, for joining me in this celebration with your warm thoughts.

Over the years a whole new world has opened up to me in learning the joy of reading. And now, writing is just the icing on the cake.

I can thank you and my other readers for the encouragement and support along the way. It has made all the difference.

  3. Pat, congratulations on your first 100 posts. I only recently passed that milestone myself. It is a great feeling.

Lately my own writing has slowed down some as I process what is going on in my life right now. On the outside, it doesn’t seem that much is going on. It is on the inside that everything is shifting. I do this periodically. It is always intense and confusing and coming out the other side is glorious. I may have to make write an article from this comment. I have never tried to describe the process before. We will see.

I look forward to reading each of your articles as you post them. They are always so full of “plain talk and ordinary wisdom.” I love the name of your blog. Have a glorious day.

  4. Patricia – you are so kind and generous in your words. I appreciate it so when you stop by and share.

Like you, I have had to slow down and haven’t been able to write as frequently as the way my life is now I don’t have as much time as I used to with working full time.

I also haven’t been able to comment and read posts from others like I did and I miss it. But, I know it will not always be this way.

Our paths seem to be very similar in that, like you, I’m also experiencing and processing a lot of changes from within. The words are not always there but I’m aware of the shift.

I think Oprah’s webcasts and the reading of Eckhart’s book “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose” has made a tremendous difference in my life. Now, it’s the practice of these truths and living of it everyday.

I’m so happy you enjoy my site and the name. That means a lot to me. I feel a kinship with you and your words and appreciate how real you are when you write. You don’t hold back. I love that.

Thank you, sister, for continuing with me on this journey and for your support and encouragement. I look forward to reading more of what you have learned and writing and sharing more of what’s happening at my end.

Looking forward to the next 100.

I would love to hear from you. . .thank you for stopping by.
